Janet Ulrich Brooks    

** # JANET ULRICH BROOKS (Anya Botvinnik) is a TimeLine Company Member, where she has appeared in ALL MY SONS, WHEN SHE DANCED, NOT ENOUGH AIR, WEEKEND, TESLA'S LETTERS, PARADISE LOST, LILLIAN and A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Most recent credits include THE ORIGINAL GREASE (American Theater Co.), PONY (About Face Theatre), THE SEAGULL and A TRUE HISTORY OF THE JOHNSTOWN FLOOD (Goodman Theatre) and JACOB & JACK (Victory Gardens Theater). Other Chicago credits include GOLDA'S BALCONY (Pegasus Players, Non-Equity Jeff Award – Outstanding Solo Performance); RICHARD III, A LIE OF THE MIND and MARATHON 33 (Strawdog Theatre); HUCK FINN (Steppenwolf for Young Adults); plus work with Writers' Theatre, Collaboraction and others. Film and TV credits include CONVICTION, POLISH BAR, SHAKEY, ONE SMALL HITCH, THE CHICAGO CODE and THE PLAYBOY CLUB. Janet was the first recipient of the Ed See Outstanding Theatre Alumnus Award from the University of Central Missouri. She earned an MFA degree in Acting at Western Illinois University.

# DAVID PARKES (John Honeyman) is proud to be a TimeLine Company Member. He has appeared in a number of TimeLine's productions, including FROST/NIXON, NOT ENOUGH AIR, TRUMBO, WIDOWERS' HOUSES, HARMLESS, THE GENERAL FROM AMERICA, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, PRAVDA, THE LION IN WINTER, HANNAH AND MARTIN, AWAKE AND SING!, HALCYON DAYS, THE CRUCIBLE, NOT ABOUT NIGHTINGALES and GASLIGHT. Other Chicago theater credits include work with Steppenwolf, American Theater Co., Northlight, The House, Eclipse, Apple Tree, StreetSigns, Footsteps, Greasy Joan & Co. and the Piven Theatre Workshop. Recent regional work includes Everyman Theatre's production of BLACKBIRD in Baltimore. His recent television credits include A&E's THE BEAST and Fox Television's THE CHICAGO CODE.

LEE BLESSING (Playwright) is the writer of the plays A WALK IN THE WOODS (Pulitzer Prize and Tony and Olivier award nominations, American Theater Critics Association Award), GOING TO ST. IVES (Lucille Lortel Award nomination), THIEF RIVER (Drama Desk Award nomination), COBB, CHESAPEAKE, ELEEMOSYNARY, WHEN WE GO UPON THE SEA and DOWN THE ROAD. He was the featured playwright of Signature Theatre's 1992-93 season, which included his plays FORTINBRAS, LAKE STREET EXTENSION, TWO ROOMS and the world premiere of PATIENT A. Recent premieres include GREAT FALLS (2008 Humana New Play Festival); A BODY OF WATER (Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Award, Guthrie Theater and Old Globe Theatre) and LONESOME HOLLOW (Contemporary American Theatre Festival). Oregon's Profile Theatre devoted its 2010-11 season to Blessing's plays. Other plays have premiered at Yale Repertory, Arena Stage, Steppenwolf, Old Globe, Alliance and Seattle's A Contemporary Theater, among others. Blessing's television credits include TNT's COOPERSTOWN (Humanitas Award). He has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim, Bush, McKnight and Jerome Foundations. He heads the graduate playwriting program at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, and lives in Brooklyn and Los Angeles with his wife, playwright and writer/producer Melanie Marnich.

# NICK BOWLING (Director) was the founding Artistic Director of TimeLine Theatre and is now a Company Member and Associate Artistic Director. He is the recipient of an Equity Jeff Award for Outstanding Direction (THE HISTORY BOYS at TimeLine) and four Non-Equity Jeff Awards for Outstanding Direction (FIORELLO!, THIS HAPPY BREED and THE CRUCIBLE at TimeLine and ANOTHER PART OF THE FOREST at Eclipse Theatre). He also received Jeff Award nominations for THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION, THE LION IN WINTER and HAUPTMANN at TimeLine and for CLOSER THAN EVER at Porchlight Music Theatre. Recent credits at TimeLine include THE FRONT PAGE, IN DARFUR, THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION, WHEN SHE DANCED, NOT ENOUGH AIR and FIORELLO! Other Chicago credits include BACH AT LEIPZIG (Writers' Theatre), TIME OF THE CUCKOO and FROZEN ASSETS (Shattered Globe Theatre) and FACTORY GIRLS (Rivendell Theatre), among others.

+ BRIAN SIDNEY BEMBRIDGE, U.S.A. (Scenic and Lighting Designer) returns to TimeLine, where he is an Associate Artist and has designed sets and/or lights for more than 16 productions. His other Chicago credits include Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Goodman Theatre, The Second City, Lookingglass Theatre Co. (company member), Court Theatre, The Chicago Theatre, Ravinia Festival, Drury Lane theaters, Luna Negra Dance Theater, Northlight Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater,  Writers' Theatre and Teatro Vista (artistic associate). Off-Broadway credits include The Public Theater, Second Stage Theatre, Jean Cocteau Repertory Theatre, Kids with Guns and Theatre at St. Clement's. Regional credits include the Guthrie Theater and Children's Theatre Co. in Minneapolis, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Arden Theatre Co. in Philadelphia, California Shakespeare Theater in Orinda, Round House Theatre in Maryland, Virginia Opera, Opera Omaha, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Madison Repertory Theatre, Dallas Theatre Company and Geffen Theatre and Circle X Theatre Company (company member) in Los Angeles. Film production design credits include MARIE AND BRUCE, HOLDING OUT and STRAY DOGS. He has been honored with five Jeff Awards, two Hewes Design Award nominations, three Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards, two Back Stage Garland Awards, an Ovation Award and an L.A. Weekly Award. JACQUELINE FIRKINS, U.S.A. (Costume Designer) is making her TimeLine Theatre debut. Her design work includes costumes for several Chicago theaters, including Northlight, Chicago Children's, Writers', Goodman and Court. She also has designed for Hartford Stage, Long Wharf Theatre, Yale Repertory Theatre and the Yale School of Drama in Connecticut; Dallas Theatre Center; Portland Stage Co. in Maine; Portland Center Stage in Oregon; Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis; Idaho Shakespeare Festival; Shakespeare & Company in Massachusetts; AboutFace Theatre Company in Los Angeles; Ensemble Studio Theatre and Brave New Repertory in New York City; The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey; and Dorset Theatre Festival in Vermont. Jacqueline received a 2001 Princess Grace Award and is a faculty member at Loyola University Chicago.

+ ANDREW HANSEN (Original Music and Sound Designer) is an Associate Artist at TimeLine and has contributed to 26 productions since GASLIGHT in 1999. Favorites include TO MASTER THE ART, NOT ENOUGH AIR and PRAVDA. His work can be heard later this season in HUNGER at Lifeline Theatre and A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC at Writers' Theatre. The score for A WALK IN THE WOODS is dedicated to TimeLine Theatre in honor of its 15th anniversary.

+ MIKE TUTAJ (Projections Designer) is an Associate Artist at TimeLine, where his work includes sound/projections design for FIORELLO!; projections design for IN DARFUR, FROST/NIXON, THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION, THE HISTORY BOYS, TESLA'S LETTERS, GUANTANAMO: HONOR BOUND TO DEFEND FREEDOM, THIS HAPPY BREED and MARTIN FUREY'S SHOT (Non-Equity Jeff Award); and sound design for LILLIAN. He also has designed projections and/or sound at numerous theaters, including Chicago Shakespeare, The Hypocrites, Barrel of Monkeys, American Theater Co., Teatro Vista, Serendipity, Noble Fool, Bailiwick, Steep and Madison Repertory. Mike sometimes can be seen performing with Barrel of Monkeys, where he is a proud company member.

+ MAREN ROBINSON (Dramaturg) is an Associate Artist at TimeLine, and A WALK IN THE WOODS marks her 14th production with the company. Favorite TimeLine projects include TO MASTER THE ART, FROST/NIXON, THE HISTORY BOYS, NOT ENOUGH AIR, COPENHAGEN and PRAVDA. She was an artistic intern at Steppenwolf Theatre and has worked with Lifeline, Eclipse, Strawdog, Caffeine, Greasy Joan and Camenae theaters. Upcoming projects include THE PITMEN PAINTERS, ENRON and MY KIND OF TOWN at TimeLine and HUNGER and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE at Lifeline. She holds an MA degree in Humanities from the University of Chicago and has taught or lectured at the Newberry Library, the Chicago Public Library and several Chicago universities. Maren is a member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas.

TANERA MARSHALL (Dialect Coach) is making her TimeLine debut with A WALK IN THE WOODS. Her credits include the films PUBLIC ENEMIES (Marion Cotillard), THE LUCKY ONES (Rachel McAdams), BURNING PALMS (Rosamund Pike) and LAY THE FAVORITE (Vince Vaughn) and the national tours of the musicals BILLY ELLIOT: THE MUSICAL and DIRTY DANCING. Chicago theater credits include productions at Court, Congo Square and Greasy Joan & Co.; she also has worked at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights. She is head of voice and speech for the BA and BFA performance programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Tanera, who is a certified instructor of Fitzmaurice Voicework®, holds an MFA degree in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University.

+ CHENEY TARDIO (Stage Manager) is an Associate Artist at TimeLine and proud to mark A WALK IN THE WOODS as her first show as a member of
Actors' Equity Association. Cheney is elated to be back at TimeLine for her third season, after working as the stage manager for IN DARFUR, FROST/NIXON, 'MASTER HAROLD' ... AND THE BOYS, THE HISTORY BOYS and WHEN SHE DANCED. She was the assistant stage manager and assistant producer for
THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION at TimeLine. Other Chicago credits include work with Congo Square, American Theatre Company and The Gift.  She has limitless gratitude for the wonderful folks at TimeLine, and for her Bear, friends and family for their constant love and support.

KATIE UTTERBACK (Production Assistant) is working on her first production with TimeLine. She recently received her BA degree in Theatre from Butler University, where her production credits included WOYZECK, EURYDICE by Sarah Ruhl and ENDGAME, among many others. A native of Madison, Wisc., she can't wait to work and live in Chicago.

JOHN KEARNS (Production Manager) is beginning his fifth season working with TimeLine, his second in his current role. His previous Chicago theater experience includes work at the Piven Theatre Workshop and Steppenwolf. Regionally, he has worked at theaters in Charlotte, N.C.; Washington, D.C.; and Boston. He sends his love and thanks to Caroline and Oliver.

CALEB CHARLES MCANDREW (Technical Director) is happy to be working with TimeLine Theatre as resident technical director, after previously working here as an overhire carpenter. He previously has worked as technical director at Next, Chicago Dramatists, Pegasus Players, About Face, Red Tape and Teatro Vista theaters, and with the Opera Department at Northwestern University. His scenic-design credits include LA TRAVIATA (Novafeltria, Italy), DON GIOVANNI (Montegridolfo, Italy), BUS STOP (The Den Theatre) and ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (Fleetwood-Jordain Community Center, Evanston). He also has designed lights for THE CRUCIBLE at The University of Memphis. He would like to thank the folks at TimeLine for their help and support, as well as his wonderful carpenters, without whom he couldn't have made this happen.
