TimeLine Theatre celebrates our mission of exploring history
by inviting you to step into another era at our gala benefit,
Step Into Time. This year we explore the birth of the blues! In the early part of the 20th Century, the blues migrated
to Chicago and was soon electrifying audiences in clubs all
over the city. Influenced by the spirituals, work songs and
ballads of the Deep South, this vibrant new music genre
was birthed by pioneering musicians who confronted life with strength, attitude and raucous song. Join us at TimeLine's biggest party of the year to experience
a look back at the early years of this art form, its continuing influence on Chicago's music scene
and its unique ability to lift our spirits.
All net proceeds support the mission and programs of TimeLine Theatre.
