Hannah and Martin
by Kate Fodor
directed by Jeremy B. Cohen
Winner of six Jeffs and featuring
the cast and crew that made this production a sensation
last spring, we are thrilled to bring back TimeLine’s
biggest hit.
Jewish political theorist Hannah Arendt
is thrown into turmoil when her lover and mentor, the
renowned philosopher Martin Heidegger, develops ties
to the Nazi party and becomes a vocal supporter of Hitler.
After the war, she returns to Germany and must weigh
the consequences of forgiving Martin for his actions
and question whether or not love can truly conquer all.
“Fodor charts a course of passion,
controversy, rage, and finally, a realization that it
is not always easy to condemn,” wrote Windy
City Times. “It challenges, entertains, enlightens.
It is a nearly flawless theatrical experience.”
