Literary Manager

When Ben moved to Chicago, the first off-loop show he saw was TimeLine’s production of THE CRUCIBLE:

I loved the intimacy of the space, the intensity of the performances and seeing a familiar play in a completely new light.

He attended every subsequent TimeLine show and decided to get involved in the company after seeing AWAKE AND SING! – one of his favorite TimeLine productions. In 2005, Ben became TimeLine’s Literary Manger and a Company Member. His involvement with TimeLine is inspired and motivated by TimeLine’s mission.

I’ve always loved history and exploring how events of the past still affect us today.

Ben’s work at TimeLine currently includes managing the Playwrights Collective. He was also producer for LILLIAN and TRUMBO, associate director for the world premiere of MY KIND OF TOWN, assistant director for WIDOWERS’ HOUSES, MARTIN FUREY’S SHOT and the remount of HANNAH AND MARTIN and box office manager for THE LION IN WINTER.

Other Chicago credits include Assistant Director for THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT at The Gift Theatre, and Dramaturg for the new play CITRUS with the New Theatre Collective.

Ben is the Director of Member Services for the League of Chicago Theatres, where he serves as a resource for more than 250 member theaters and manages many of the League’s audience and professional development programs and services.

A native of Fisher, Minnesota, Ben is a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University with a BFA degree in Theatre Studies.
